Brittney and Tank have been foster parents with Release for the past year. They have had five children placed with them in that time – four of whom are siblings and are currently placed with them. Brittney and Tank stay very busy!
Through the fostering process, Brittney said “God has taught us so much about surrender, selflessness, and His love for us during this time. It is an honor to love these kids!” Brittney acknowledges there have been difficult times along with the good times. Plans changes, needs arise, and relationships are stretched through foster care. One of Brittney’s favorite times is Worship Wednesdays, where the kids love listening to upbeat Christian music and praising Jesus. This helps make the hard times worth it.
The most rewarding part about being a foster parent, according to Brittney, is “Experiencing God opening our hearts to love kids like they are biologically ours because we know that’s what they deserve. We get to put our hearts on the line for theirs.”
“We get to put our hearts on the line for theirs.”
Both times Brittney and Tank have taken children in to their homes, it has been with only a couple hours notice. Their friends and family members rallied and assisted them in preparing bedrooms, purchasing clothes, setting up appointments, and making sure children feel welcomed and safe.
We are so grateful to have gotten to know Brittney and Tank, and we are so thankful that they answered the call to become foster parents. It is an honor to be part of their foster journey! If you’re interested in learning more about how you can support foster children, please reach out today!
