The Release Care Closet

The Release Care Closet is a community resource for children and families involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. We primarily carry clothing, books, blankets and toys, but sometimes have beds, diapers, car seats and other items.

The Release Care Closet will be open for families to browse on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 9am-noon. Items are provided free of charge, although we do accept monetary donations to allow us to purchase additional items.

How To Help

The Release Care Closet generally does not need donations of gently used clothing, except for the Urgent Needs List.

We are always in high need of:
  • New Socks
  • New Undergarments
  • Diapers
  • Hygiene Products (wipes, baby powder, etc.)
  • Shoes
  • Children’s Duffle Bags / Luggage
  • Books
  • Gift Cards (from Walmart or Target preferred)
Often, big blessings are a big job—we are always looking for individuals or small groups who are ready and willing to volunteer their time sorting and organizing the care closet with us.

For more information on how to donate or volunteer, please contact Brenda Block at 402–312–3694 or brenda@releaseinc.org
